On Thursday, 2/4/2021, a celebration was held in the middle of the activities of the sixth joint Gulf Week for Cancer Awareness, which takes place from 1 to 7 February every year in all countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and the celebration of World Cancer Day that comes within the activities of this week, and this celebration was held under the patronage and presence of the doctor Ahmed Al-Shatti, Director of Al-Sabah Medical District who delivered a speech at the opening, mentioned that these Gulf weeks, since its inception in 2016, have contributed to raising awareness of risk factors and identifying the primary signs of cancerous diseases, and that the GCC countries are among the developed countries in this field, thanking the efforts of the Gulf Federation for Cancer Control, whose umbrella are 18 non-governmental organizations to raise awareness of cancer in the countries of the Cooperation Council and the Gulf Center for Cancer Control, which is affiliated with the Health Council of the Cooperation Council States, for their approval of the Gulf Cancer Awareness Week from 1 to 7 February of each year, and this is the belief of decision-makers and specialists in the countries of the Cooperation Council of the importance Cancer awareness is the cornerstone of implementation of national cancer control programs in the GCC countries.
