Dear Colleagues,
As
a General Secretary and Chief Editor of the Gulf Federation for
Cancer Control (GFCC), it gives me great pleasure on behalf of
the Board Members to extend my sincere wishes for your
participation and co-operation in the growth of GFCC, working
towards its prosperity and success.
A relatively new federation “Gulf Federation for Cancer Control”
(GFCC) was established in the year 2000, with the headquarters
based in Qatar. This is a joint Gulf Federation and
representatives from the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, the UAE, Qatar and the Republic
of Yemen are valued members.
The above federation is functioning under the Chairmanship of
Dr. Khalid Bin-Jaber from Qatar. The Federation has elected me
(Dr. Khaled Al-Saleh) from the State of Kuwait, as General
Secretary. Several non-governmental health societies and
organizations from Gulf countries related to oncology are
collectively operating through this federation.
We expect our FIRST ISSUE of GFCC Journal to be published by Jan
2007 and we would like to invite oncologists from Gulf and other
countries to send their research publications to include in our
first issue. This Journal will definitely be a great help to all
oncologists in order to gain more knowledge about the modern
techniques and treatments to prevent and treat cancer. There is
no doubt that this journal will flourish to compete with other
international journals in the near future. We hope to begin by
publishing half yearly for the first two years, then
subsequently at four monthly intervals. We are very optimistic
that we can succeed in making this Journal a classified journal
at the end of its second year.
Finally, we would like to acknowledge that the stability and
commitment of the Journal’s participants, who are considered the
spinal chord of the federation as well as the prime contributors
in assisting to establish the Journal and in accumulating
knowledge in this specialized field and for its overall
success..
With regards,
Dr. Khaled Al Saleh
Editor-in-Chief
