Dear Colleagues,
The 7th Muscat International Oncology Conference will be held this month on 11-15 September 2015 in Oman. This is a yearly conference organized by the National Oncology Center, Royal Hospital of Oman, the Ministry of Health, Sultanate of Oman and Oman Cancer Association (OCA) in collaboration and support of the Gulf Federation for Cancer Control (GFFCC). I would like to encourage oncology doctors in the gulf and the Arab region to register now and participate in this important conference. Contact details for this event could be found at the Scientific Events section of this journal.
We have finalized the GFFCC Cancer Management Guidelines and it will be available for circulation very soon. It took us one year to prepare this document. It cannot be over emphasized that research in oncology is rapidly progressing and that breakthrough in treatment and cancer care are evolving fast. Every Oncologist should take cognizance of the importance of guidelines in the management of cancer patients and that multidisciplinary management is essential. This document is the first compilation of protocols and guidelines on different cancer sites, which are designed to support the decision making process in patient’s care and to develop treatment procedures in Oncology. The content of this guideline is based on a systematic review of clinical evidence, the main source for evidence-based care. More information about the availability of this document will be provided soon.
Best regards,
Dr. Khaled Al Saleh
