Editor's Word

Dear Colleagues,

It is a pleasure to report the success of the 3rd International Head & Neck Cancer Conference, Integrated Prospect, held in Kuwait on 7-9 November 2015. Under the patronage of His Excellency, Dr. Ali S. Al-Obaidi, Minister of Health, the conference was organized by the Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC) in coordination with the Kuwait Society for Oncology. International experts on H&N arrived to attend the conference and delivered lectures on their speciality topics. The conference was more enliven on the active participation of KCCC delegates and participants from various organizations and institutions. On the last day of the forum, a special meeting was held to convene the H&N Group composed of 8 international experts. In addition to other important functions, the H&N Group also agreed to become members of the Editorial Advisory Board of this journal effective January this year and will help review H&N related manuscripts submitted for publication.

As mentioned in my previous Editorial, a partnership between the Gulf Centre for Cancer Control under the Executive Office of the Health Ministers’ Council for the GCC and the Gulf Federation for Cancer Control, a non-government organization composed of 16 cancer associations in the gulf has been agreed. Foremost to the achievements of this tie-up was the formation and implementation of activities of the Gulf Awareness Group and the holding of an Annual Cancer Awareness Week every first week of February. We await to witness the many awareness activities planned all over the GCC countries this February.
