International Tobacco Control Conference on The Scourge of Smoking and Conflicts of Interest

Introduction:

We all aspire to improve the economies of countries and develop their services. For this, we must first declare a commitment to combating smoking. Without this commitment, all development plans will fail for the simple reason that development is linked to human beings, and human beings are linked to their health. Without health, there will be no effective individuals, and there will be no development.        

Conference objectives:

• Highlighting the economics of tobacco.
• Protecting public health policies from the influence of tobacco industry circles across all government sectors.
• Governmental and civil efforts to confront campaigns promoting the scourge of smoking.
• Enhancing youth awareness to confront modern methods and techniques of attracting the scourge of smoking.
• Laws prohibiting and restricting smoking and the influence of tobacco companies and promoters in neutralizing these laws and reducing their impact.
• Establishing a Gulf alliance against the scourge of smoking.
